This is just a quick one just something that is frustating me recently. This phrase YOLO (You Only Live Once) irritates me to the core.
The amount of people who do something stupid or ridiculous and then to justify it and say YOLO just angers me. No not YOLO you have just made a fool of yourself and do you really want to be remembered as the carefree idiot who did stupid things and screamed YOLO,
It makes me feel like these people have thought they can justify committing sins and doing immoral things and think its alright because they only live once. Its a phrase that just screams do anything and don't think about it because hey 'You Only Live Once' so what does it matter.
It does matter because you don't just live once you live twice, once here on earth and then after in the hereafter. Everything you do is judged and you are accountable for all your actions if not here on the earth then after in the hereafter. Even if you are not a religious person you should still act morally and sensibly and think the thought of only living once gives you the justification to do what you want.
All I have to say on this silly phrase that Drake has made so mainstream. All i have to scream back is YOLT!!!!!

Half Marathon
So last month I ran a half marathon, something which I have wanted to do for a long time. My friend was running it and he wanted some people to run with him, I run anyway so I agreed as I have wanted to run one.
Guess what I actually finished it 13.1 or .2 miles or whatever it was. I didn't do my target time of 2 hours - 2 hours and 15 mins but that didn't matter really I was just glad I finished and wasn't last. It was a good run I was happy running until mile 10 and then my knee started to hurt, so I walk/ran the rest of the last 3 miles.
So some tips for amateur runners like my self who go to run their first marathon (don't laugh they are serious);

- Vaseline/ Lubricate your nipples - Mine hurt so much after the race, they hurt more than my legs. I am being serious and no one told me about this prior to the race.
- Vaseline/ Lubricate the inside of your legs - They rub and after the race it hurts
- Wear running socks - Yes there are things called running socks which no one told me about which apparently protect your toes
- Cut your to nails - Cut them really short, I cut mine but obviously not short enough as my big toe nail was bruised
Some things I did do also which I recommend;
- Eat pasta the day before
- Eat banana's - secret weapon
- Take a spare set of clothes to change into after
- Do not wear boxers while you are running - they get irritating believe me
- Drink a sports drink like Lucozade sport, Powerade etc to replace the nutrients you lose while you are running.
Run happily and be free and take my advice especially to Lubricate your nipples and inner thighs, you will thank me.
Palestine
I heard the news that Palestine is now recognized as a official state after so long. I was really happy when I heard the news and thought it was a great step for them to be finally recognized.
Then I thought about it a bit longer and thought really what difference does this make? Is this going to stop Israel from continuing to do what it wants and continue to build on Palestinian land? Is this going to stop the suffering of all the displaced Palestinian refugees? Is this going to end the bloodshed?
The answer unfortunately is No, Israel will continue to do what it wants because it is still heavily protected by the US and the UN can impose sanctions that will more than likely be ignored. No action will come of it and there will still be people suffering because of greed and power which will be masked by religion to present negative images of religions in the media.
I do think that to maybe end this war both sides need to accept each other. It is clear that the Israeli's are not going to go anywhere and nor are the Palestinians. So I think politicians need to address their people and clearly define borders for the loss of innocent young lives to be stopped.
I know there is the argument that Israel should not be here its an illegal state, but I don't think its is going to go anywhere. I have my opinions on this also but I don't think this argument will never be resolved, and the only way it will is with a war that will take many innocent lives.
The land is Holy for everyone and I do think that the borders should be open to all people who wish to pray and see where their forefathers lived. In a ideal world we could all share this land but we don't live in a ideal world and I know some of my views may be fantasy, but maybe... one day...
