10 of My FaveMovies

I thought I’d do a list of 10 of my favourite films, this will be a highly difficult and emotional task for me as I love so many movies, so if I have more than ten movies what does it matter, who's counting anyway.  This could be the longest blog post I have ever done I hope you tube and BlogSpot are ready for this.

10. The Green Mile - This Film is just amazing, if you have never seen this film I think you should go play with traffic.  This film got me so bad, I had a tear in my eye at the end, I just couldn’t help it.

9. The Passion of The Christ - What can I say, from a Muslim perspective watching this film was so moving to think that Jesus pbuh went through this was very emotional  I loved how it was all put together and this film had me captivated from start to finish.

8. A Time To Kill - You cannot watch this film without becoming emotionally attached to these characters and the sympathy you feel for the father who killed the evil men who abducted and raped his 7, 8 year old daughters.  The point when he kills them, I think Carl Lee you gave them sick, racist, evil, animals exactly what they deserve.  Also the speech at the end is just too much.

7. American History X - 3 words - Bite the Curb!! Need I say more?

6. The Color Purple - Whoopi Goldberg is pure class in this film and you feel her pain every step of the way through this film.  Such a moving piece of cinematic genius from start to finish.

5. Goodfellas - This film had epic written all over it, I have a love for American Italian 'Mafia' films and this film defiantly delivers and Robert DeNiro is my Hero :)

4. Inception - Who thought the young faced Romeo would deliver such an amazing performance in this film.  Credit where credit is due, Leonardo DeCaprio has proved to the world that you can re-invent yourself if you have the talent and be versatile enough to turn from acting in romantic films such as titanic and Romeo and Juliet to more serious films like Inception and Shutter Island.

3. The Godfather Part 1 - The best film in the sequel in my opinion and the greatest 'mafia' film ever made.  This film I can watch over and over again and still get excited and never be bored of the storyline or the characters.  It’s one of those films you know will be watched by millions of people for many years to come.

2. Goonies - Ok I know what you’re thinking, seriously I rated this above Godfather, Goodfellas, Gladiator, Training Day and all the other classics.  All I have to say is 'shuffle truffle' and ' hey you guys'.  This film gets me every time and if you a 80's baby you will know what I mean.  I don’t know why adventure films just cannot compete with this one and every time you watch it you get that little nice feeling inside.

1. Pulp Fiction - Number 1 every single time has to be Pulp Fiction, this film is so epic.  From the dancing to the death to the guns to the script and the lines everything is just amazing.  A true masterpiece and my favourite scene has to be the overdose scene, gets me every time.

There are so much more films I love so I am going to start again from zero, this is what I meant by this is going to be the longest blog post ever.

0. Training Day - Denzel kill's it in this film!! Five stars

Is 26 OLD!!!

Bloggers

I currently work as a manager in a retail giant and I have people who are younger work for me.  Like when I was younger I worked for a retail store while I was going through college and university like these kids are.  I was at lunch in the canteen chatting to some of them, messing about and then the topic of age came up.  I asked them what years they were born because believe me I don’t feel much older than them, and I got the response of 1994, 1993 and there may have even been a 1990 in there.  I was feeling depressed already, as soon as that child said 1994 I was thinking wow, I was thinking where are my 80's babies man these guys are just kids.

After the shock, tears and slitting of wrists (joke I do not self harm) I started speaking to them about TV and films that I watched when I was younger.  These guys had not even heard of Mighty Ducks, The Color Purple, Thundercats, A Time to Kill, Goonies, Remember the Titans and then I stopped and thought all you children are deprived.  Then I spoke to one of my younger cousins and his mates, they had also not heard of these films.  My cousin had heard of some but I was thinking how old am I, in my head I think I’m still 21 those extra 5 years that make me 26 do count.

Now I must take you back to the canteen with my work colleagues, the covers of the newspapers were all referring to the Stephen Lawrence murder trial.  These guys did not even know about the case, come on seriously I am not that much older than them how can they not know about the case.  I was even more shocked and rested my old self and just stopped.  I must make peace with the fact that 26 is old compared to some people.

Michael Kiwanuka

Hey Blogger world

Today I was reading my twitter timeline and I saw someone tweet about Michael Kiwanuka and the fact that he had a session on live lounge.  Me being my curious self thought who is this guy I should you tube him (you tube is the Google when you’re looking for a singer).  To my surprise I heard an amazing voice and a really cool video.  This is why I thought I would dedicate my first blog post of the year to him and let you guys here his amazing voice to.  If I am the only one who has just discovered this voice I am sorry for being behind.
