Is 26 OLD!!!
Bloggers
I currently work as a manager in a retail giant and I have people who are younger work for me. Like when I was younger I worked for a retail store while I was going through college and university like these kids are. I was at lunch in the canteen chatting to some of them, messing about and then the topic of age came up. I asked them what years they were born because believe me I don’t feel much older than them, and I got the response of 1994, 1993 and there may have even been a 1990 in there. I was feeling depressed already, as soon as that child said 1994 I was thinking wow, I was thinking where are my 80's babies man these guys are just kids.
After the shock, tears and slitting of wrists (joke I do not self harm) I started speaking to them about TV and films that I watched when I was younger. These guys had not even heard of Mighty Ducks, The Color Purple, Thundercats, A Time to Kill, Goonies, Remember the Titans and then I stopped and thought all you children are deprived. Then I spoke to one of my younger cousins and his mates, they had also not heard of these films. My cousin had heard of some but I was thinking how old am I, in my head I think I’m still 21 those extra 5 years that make me 26 do count.
Now I must take you back to the canteen with my work colleagues, the covers of the newspapers were all referring to the Stephen Lawrence murder trial. These guys did not even know about the case, come on seriously I am not that much older than them how can they not know about the case. I was even more shocked and rested my old self and just stopped. I must make peace with the fact that 26 is old compared to some people.

Michael Kiwanuka
Hey Blogger world
Today I was reading my twitter timeline and I saw someone tweet about Michael Kiwanuka and the fact that he had a session on live lounge. Me being my curious self thought who is this guy I should you tube him (you tube is the Google when you’re looking for a singer). To my surprise I heard an amazing voice and a really cool video. This is why I thought I would dedicate my first blog post of the year to him and let you guys here his amazing voice to. If I am the only one who has just discovered this voice I am sorry for being behind.

Is Rihana talking to the devil?
Yesterday I was driving and listening to the Rihana album as usual, because I think the girl has some awesome tracks. But then her version of 'love the way you lie' came on. Usually I don’t concentrate on the lyrics to much, I just sing along like a clone, but I started properly listening to the words. To me it felt as if she was actually talking to the devil then I got really freaked out, first verse goes as follows;
On the first page of our story
The future seemed so bright
Then this thing turned out so evil
I don’t know why I’m still surprised
Even angels have their wicked schemes
And you take that to new extremes
But you’ll always be my hero
Even though you’ve lost your mind
Like she had made a plan with the devil and it got worse. Firstly the 'angels have their wicked schemes' part; the devil was an angel who was kicked out heaven and has his wicked scheme into making mankind evil.
Secondly I know your evil have your wicked scheme's 'but you will always be my hero' - in other words she does not care if he is evil she will still follow him.
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn
But that’s all right because I like the way it hurts
I love the way you lie
Ohhh, I love the way you lie
This part I feel speaks for itself, his lies which make her commit sin is going to ensure she goes to hell and she thinks she will enjoy it. She doesn’t understand the devil is evil and he is playing games with her and all the scriptures say hell is not going to be a nice abode for the evil.
Now there’s gravel in our voices
Glass is shattered from the fight
In this tug of war, you’ll always win
Even when I’m right
‘cause you feed me fables from your hand
With violent words and empty threats
And it’s sick that all these battles
Are what keeps me satisfied
'In this tug of war, you’ll always win' - the devil and the angel both sit on your shoulders one whispering for you to do good and the other telling you to commit sins. She is saying that she will commit sins and he will always win even though he feeds her fables.
Then her song 'What’s my name' is apparently worshipping the goddess Inana who was also referred to as nana.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inanna
She was apparently the goddess sex and seduction. I also found a video on YouTube that refers to my point about this song.
I’m unsure whether I am a fan anymore, I don’t believe Riri and other acts should be using their talents to brainwash us. If this is true I am truly ashamed of the music industry and their joining with the illuminati.

My Tram Experience
Wow watched this video on You Tube - if you haven’t seen it click below.
This woman was obviously high or drunk and travelling in the tram with her child whilst using some colourful language. First of all she needed to slow her role because she is not an immigration officer, who is she to tell people where they must go. I also did not see her checking passports so how did she know these people where not British. How does someone have so much hate filled in them , how can a person like this ever really be happy.
The ignorance of some people I find highly shocking and unbelievable, I grew up in a white area and still live in a predominantly white area. I had racist abuse all my life but I learnt to deal with it, but that was in the 90's we have moved to the 00's people need to start moving with us. Probably because I’m 6 foot 3 no one curses me with racial abuse anymore (most of the time), just the media labels my whole religion as a bunch of terrorists, but hey it’s the Daily Mail/ Express and their right wing views. I believe that the media is a big part of this underlying racism which goes on , it continues to hype up immigration figures and continuously uses the phrase 'Muslim men' when discussing some subjects. Why does the paper not just say a group of men, why are their religions and ethnic backgrounds of importance? Because it sells papers alienating a group of people and using them for someone to pick on like we are still in the primary school playground.
On a serious note though what is wrong with people, who cares what colour people? We are all human and yes Britain is a multi-cultural country and men and women from many different walks of life live here. They are all here together which is what makes Britain Great.

Give Blood
I was on The Guardian online via Facebook catching up on the latest stories and information and I do have a love for The Guardian, it’s my favourite paper. I saw the new Give Blood campaign and I loved it, the advert says 'no one is too busy to receive blood'. It simple yet effective because its true and I am a regular blood donor have been doing it since I was 18, sometimes I have to wait a few months to go again because I have been to Asia a couple of times this year and as a precaution you must wait 3 months before you give blood again.
Anyway back to my point, I’m drifting off here, I think everyone should give blood and do it on a regular basis. I know there are a lot of people who in my eyes it really does make a difference to, there are people who need blood transfusions regularly to stay alive and there are incidents all the time where people need blood to save their lives. It doesn’t take much at all just half an hour of your times and you’re finished. Ok I am aware there are people with phobias of needles and don’t like giving blood, yes I have heard all the excuses but you won’t make them when the blood is there to save your life. I am aware there are some religions out there whose followers would not choose to receive blood and are not allowed to give blood, I am at no way trying to be disrespectful of your beliefs this is just my opinion.
In another way I am hypocritical because I say this about blood donation but I would never donate my organs due to my religious beliefs and the fact I don’t think I want someone to take out my organs after I have passed away. I would donate my kidney if someone needed it while I was alive but don’t want anyone to do that to me after I have passed away, slightly strange I know. But from my beliefs the body has to be buried as soon as it can, within 24 hours if possible.
To me personally organ donation and blood donation are two completely different things. They both save people’s lives I agree and this is what everyone says to me when I say I don’t want to donate my organs. The body makes new blood constantly and in 48 hours or so whatever you have given has been reproduced by your body and it will take an eight weeks for the red blood cells that you donated to be reproduced. Your body does not have any physical changes and you can go about your life as before. If I donated my organs after I died I would not be complete when everyone is re-awoken for judgement day and their eternal fate in the hereafter is decided. I know some people don’t believe this and I do and this is why I would not donate my organs.
Back to the point I really just wanted to make - go donate blood and do it now. I swear it does not hurt, just a little prick when they put the needle in. :)

Top Boy
Top Boy has got me hooked and I have been watching since Monday while this four part drama unfolds. It has been on every night of the week so far and tonight is the Top Boy finale. The acting and the story line is on point, they are showing real life in the poorest of neighbourhoods in London. A part of London which most of us like to forget exists is now on TV for everyone to see. This is what happens everyday people hustle to make money and 'yes' people take drugs, lie and kill for money.
This show has shown what people do to get to the top and how 'growing too big for your boots' can have negative effects. It shows the black on black crime which is committed by gangs and little youths being groomed to sell drugs for the sense of belonging and being part of a family.
This is London and this is how people live but what it doesn’t show is how can we prevent this from happening and how can we get our youth to aspire to be more (I know I’m jumping the gun as I haven’t seen the final episode). I have been reading tweets and facebook comments and people are taking sides rather than saying 'wow' what a pointless way to live. I don’t think the show is purposely glamorising the lifestyle but a part of me thinks that some kids are viewing it in that way.
It is enforcing stereotypes of a community which is working so hard to leave the negative stigma around it behind. Why should everyone view young kids from ethnic minorities as trouble. I live in a white area and am a hard working young Asian adult, but a part of me feels, I wonder if they label me like the others, I wonder if they view me as a young brown adult who makes trouble. People who know me are fully aware that this is not the case, but strangers I feel may stereotype me into a bracket. The Asian community has been tarnished and viewed as terrorists; drug dealers etc and I don’t like that. This show I feel does the same and gives narrow-minded people an excuse to label us and enforce their own stereotypes of us. Like Tu Pac said 'young black male misunderstood'. Why can’t we have young actors from ethnic minorities showing a positive side of our community, something that shows how successful we are as communities and as people.
At no point am I trying to take away from this drama as I have enjoyed watching and feel the talent on this show is amazing. Been following Ashley Walters acting career for a while now and enjoyed his other films such a Bullet Boy, Life and Lyrics, get rich or die trying etc... Also a fan of his music, So Solid Crew were the biggest group around when I was in 6th form and Kano has also done a brilliant job in this drama and shown he can act as well as rap. I have all my Kano albums and am a fan, I do like what they have done here but I wish it could show a positive side to young adults in ethnic communities.
I fully understand why they have made this show because these issues need to be addressed and not brushed under the carpet. One of the lines from the show was 'if we don’t make any noise they don’t care' and this is the case. As a society we need to address how these people are living and where they are living. Many say that the benefits system does too much but like this drama shows it obviously doesn’t do enough where it would really matter. We have allowed this ghetto’s to take shape and we wonder why people steal or want to make some quick cash. As much as I would like to see some dramas that show us in a positive light, I am not against these dramas that show real life if it opens up people’s eyes to what is actually occurring in our capital and on our streets.
