Reality TV

Reality TV - Love it or hate it, but you can’t deny its control over the nation, as a nation were hooked on everything from X Factor to Big Brother.  I am an addict, I don’t know why I am just fascinated with watching relatively normal people (crazy fools really).  I’m not ashamed of this I love every aspect of it and my current favourite shows are  X Factor, The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE), Made in Chelsea and Big Brother.

First of let’s start with Made in Chelsea, it’s something about watching these awkward situations that’s got me and my mates hooked.  Some people feel there to bright and knowledgeable to watch such shows, but I don’t care I’m unashamed to say I love it.  Something about these rich kids leading meaningless lives is very entertaining.  As far as I am aware they are all successful in their own right and sponge of there parents also.  This is currently my favourite TV show, I enjoy laughing at their pointless self inflicted predicaments and them pretending to be emotionally affected by them.  Even though I know it’s all not real and slightly pointless I’m still hooked and can’t wait till next Monday.

TOWIE is another reality show with rich kids living off their parents or being financially capable because of their parents to follow their dreams.  Some of the cast have done it for themselves, but these young adults are too rich for their own good.  There lack of general knowledge and pointless conversations has me in stitches.  I feel a part of me thinks people can’t really be like this, but I actually think they are being real and this is how they are.  The scary thing about the show is how these beautiful young girls feel they need to cosmetically enhance themselves in many different ways to feel confident.  The amount of Botox, fake hair, fake nails, and fake tan these girls use make me think is there anything real about them at all.  If we were to look deeper into it, maybe its how we have let our young girls down and let them become walking dolls rather than letting them use their brains and become the intelligent young women who they should be.  Even still I do watch every week and see what these people are doing and what predicaments they have got themselves in.

X Factor, the show which wants to find the next best singing talent, is must watch Saturday and Sunday TV.  The whole nation turns on to see these hopefuls try and prove themselves in front of the judges and the British audience's.  If you are not watching this year you are missing out there are some amazing young and old singers through to judge’s houses.  I enjoy seeing a person shine and do what they love in front of the nation, a part of me gets hooked to a certain act.  This year is no different I am in love with my Essex girls ‘Two Shoe’ and there crazy bubbly personalities.  Another reason that I like the girls is because they are not size 0, they are happy confident normal girls with amazing voices, I know they won’t win but I hope they do well.

Big Brother is back with another house full of wannabe's, this year they have filled the house with beautiful people so we can see how they interact with each other.  Not so hooked on this show, this year but I do love the concept.  I feel that they should have a greater mix of people and put normal people from different ethnic minorities in because I feel that would be much more interesting.  But like every year Big Brother has not failed they have chosen the most obnoxious person from an ethnic minority to represent us.  But hey if that’s what people want to see, I do love the show and the concept of the show.

There are so many other reality TV shows I will be here all day from Come Dine with Me to Jersey Shore.  Around this I also fit my normal life, blogging, going out and my family lol.
